While cats are generally known for being low maintenance pets, one thing that we have learned over our time as cat owners is that… that's not exactly true. Yes, on a day-to-day basis, cats don't ask for much more than the basics, but that doesn't mean that there isn't a lot that we need to know to make sure that we are the best cat owners that we can be. 

We need to know some practical ways to enrich our cats' environments. We need to learn about overstimulation in cats and how it can cause them to bite us. It could never hurt to get some tips and tricks about how to train cats. And even the most basic - how to play with cats. You may think that will be easy, that it'll be the same as it is with dogs, but you would be wrong. Playing with cats… takes effort, and most often, from the outside, it can be pretty heckin' funny.

    This- this is something that non-cat people truly don't understand. Have you ever had a friend try to play with your cat, someone who you know is not around cats much, and they just- expect the cats to do everything? It's hilarious. And their frustration and confusion is always kind of amusing.

    Playing with cats really is like trying out for the Olympics - every single time. You will be twirling that ribbon, tossing that ball, and chasing it around the house only to throw it again, and your cat might give you like- one minute of attention for all that effort. And you will do it again and again and again, and those one-minute-moments will make you the happiest each and every time they happen.
